This week the Supreme Court of Texas issued a single opinion and zero grants. The Court's opinion this week addresses the authority of a Title IV-D child support-enforcement judge to make modifications to the conservatorship and child support obligations under an existing custody order. Relying on the terms of the Texas Family Code, the Court determined that this case was properly classified as a Title IV-D case and that the judge had the authority to render or recommend any order, including an order modifying conservatorship and child support, to complete the case
