This week the Texas Supreme Court issued no orders but granted 15 petitions for review including the petition for review of Pagayon v. Exxonmobil Corporation. This case is on appeal out of the 14th Court of Appeals and will address the scope of an employer’s duty, if any, to protect an invitee from the criminal acts of an employee while on the employer’s premises. Pagayon has been set for oral argument before the Texas Supreme Court on December 6, 2016.
